Service of Healing and Silent Communion

The healing of body, mind, spirit, relationship, and community was an important part of the ministry of Jesus and his disciples. Our hopes as we gather on the evening of July 24 are to join in this practice prayerfully, through gentle songs and thoughtful litanies, prayers for others, our world and ourselves, and sharing communion. While somewhat similar to the Advent Service of Remember, this service’s intent is broader in the sense of God’s people praying for the many needs for healing and reconciliation in our lives, the lives of those we know, and in the world. Our great hope for healing for ourselves or others in our world is toward the recovery or strengthening of our sense of connection with God, who loves us and sustains us and the world through every circumstance.
