Children & Youth

Supporting parents as the primary spiritual nurturers of their children and youth

At Freemason Street, we understand the challenges that face today’s families

Sunday Schedule

9:45 am | Sunday School

11:00 am | Worship

Children

We have lived both the joys and demands of raising children and youth in complex environments. We know that none of us is perfect when it comes to parenting and that many of us would like to have companions and encouragers for this significant part of life’s journey. Because of this, we aim to do more than programming when it comes to ministries with children and their families.

Instead, we seek to support parents as the primary spiritual nurturers of their children. We want to be a trustworthy and creative resource to encourage you and to help you find ways to talk about spiritual things with your family and as you seek to center your lives on God’s presence.

Youth

Spiritual formation of middle and high school students is viewed as the preparation of our next generation of Christian leaders. At Freemason Street, through discussion and activity, our Youth explore what it means to be a Christ-follower. As students mature, their questions become more complicated and searching.

Classes are structured to allow conversation about their struggles and triumphs and how these relate to events in Scripture, and in what ways those ancient words relate to their contemporary lives.

Sunday Mornings

Sunday School at 9:45 a.m.

Each Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m., our children and youth gather for Sunday School. Age-graded classes are available for all ages from September through May of each year. During the summer months, our Sunday School takes a break from the usual week-to-week schedule, and other opportunities are offered. Contact the church office at [contact] with questions.

Worship at 11:00 a.m.

It’s important to us that children and youth know they are taken seriously as part of the congregation. On Sundays, we encourage their attendance in worship and value their contribution to the worship experience. Youth are offered opportunities to participate in worship as readers, musicians, and assistants in Children's Worship.

Most Sundays, the worship service includes a time during the service for a sermon for children, and a time for Children’s Worship that is developmentally appropriate for Kindergarten through Grade 5.

For those younger than Kindergarten age, nursery care is available during the worship.

Other Opportunities

We offer other activities, ministries, and programs that are designed to encourage development in individual spiritual growth and in relationship to God and  others. These programs include, but are not limited to times of fun, summer Vacation Bible School, retreats, Passportkids, Passport Youth Camps, and missions opportunities.
