About the event
On Maundy Thursday, April 2, the church family, friends and guests are invited to gather at 6:00 p.m. for an Agape Meal. Reminiscent of a meal that may have been shared by early Christians gathered for worship, a simple supper of soup, bread and fruit will be served. (A vegetarian soup will be offered, too.) The Agape Meal will conclude with the sharing of Communion at the dinner tables. The service will last about an hour.
Due to the nature of the event, advance reservations are requested and encouraged (though no one will be turned away, of course). Please register on the website or call or email the Church Office (office@freemasonstreet.org or 757-478-6848).
The Agape Meal, also called an Agape Feast, is a fellowship meal and time of worship, a very ancient tradition of the Church. It is open to all and is intended to remind those who participate of the God's love and care.
