Unlike some Baptist congregations, we might include times to meditate. Our intent is to prompt continued reflection and prayer. Various musical pieces help us prepare our hearts for prayer or scripture. Often led by our church choir, everyone who desires to sing along may do so. The Pastoral Prayer lifts up to the Merciful and Compassionate One our concerns in light of the day’s events.  Each week those on our community’s prayer list are mentioned by name, and we close with the  Lord’s prayer.

Wednesday Evening Prayers

We also gather after our Wednesday night meal for an informal time of prayer for our joys and concerns.

Vigil of Light

We have a candlelight worship service one Sunday night of each month.  During this time of contemplative worship, we encounter God through singing, reflection on scripture, silence, and communion.  The service begins at 7:00 and lasts for about 45 minutes.

Lenten Services: Meditation & Meal

During the season of Lent, special times of silence and reflection are incorporated in both our worship and special services.
