… are a rich part of our identity.  We will self-publish a new hymnal in 2012.  The new volume – created by our congregation – will celebrate past hymnody and introduce new hymns, edited to highlight inclusivity and usefulness within our tradition.  We sing meditative music like that from Taize during worship and prayer gatherings.

Cherub Choir

… is for our littlest singers, age 2 to 7.  These children learn songs that instill stories and our shared beliefs in their memories, and sing periodically during Worship. Led by Eula Finley and Barbara Dixon, Rehearsals Sundays at 9:30am

These singers age 8 to grade 7 prepare more advanced music, grow in their understanding of worship leadership and refine their singing skills. Here, children grow toward a fuller awareness of their value in worship and the importance of offering music as a meaningful part of worship.  Led by Billy Batte, Rehearsals Sundays at 9:45.

Adult Choir

This is a spiritually and musically dedicated and skilled ensemble that invests itself weekly in detailed preparation of music for worship.  The Choir is generationally and racially diverse, including volunteers, college interns, and professional core.  The Choir leads congregational singing and offers anthems ranging from spirituals and folk songs to masterworks by Brahms, Bernstein, Rachmaninoff, Mozart, and the like.  The choir regularly sings as part of the Community Music Series, and its members are frequently heard as soloists during worship. Directed by Robert Shoup, rehearsal Wednesdays 6:30-8:30pm.
